Dr Eileen Tan-Gore is an Australian Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with a special interest in Head and Neck Oncology management. She holds Consultant VMO position at the John Hunter Hospital where she is involved in Registrar training.  

She operates at Mayo Private, Lingard Private and Maitland Private hospitals in the Hunter Region. She consults at Mayo Private Hospital Specialist Centre and Merewether Specialist Centre.  

Dr Tan-Gore completed her training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Queensland, the Northern Territory and New Zealand and became a Fellow in 2016. She then undertook a one-year Fellowship in Head and Neck Oncology at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse – a dedicated cancer treatment and research hospital in Sydney. She trained with General Surgeons, ENT surgeons and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons to develop skills in the comprehensive management of Head and Neck Cancer. She is trained in microvascular reconstructive surgery and works with Maxillofacial, ENT and Plastics Surgeons to manage Head and Neck Oncology in the Hunter Region.   

Dr Tan-Gore completed her medical degree (MBBS) in Queensland and, after completed her intern and resident terms, completed a dental degree (BDSc) as a pre-requisite for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Training. 

Dr Tan-Gore is committing to the provision of comprehensive Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery services to the Hunter region, including dentoalveolar, oral pathology, trauma, implantology and orthognathic surgery.  She has a particular interest in TMJ surgery and minimally invasive techniques to treat TMJ dysfunction. She has committed to further training in the USA in 2019 in advanced arthroscopy and joint replacement surgery. She is also committed to the provision of Head and Neck Oncology services to the region, including the management of oral cancer, salivary gland pathology and advanced skin cancers.
