Dr Hansen is an Australian-trained Adult and Paediatric Neurosurgeon.  He completed a Fellowship in Complex Spine Surgery with a prestigious AO Spine Fellowship in Toronto, Canada, and has extensive surgical expertise in cranial, spinal and peripheral nerve surgery.  Dr Hansen also has a strong research focus completing a Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine from the University of Sydney and has published many articles in peer-reviewed journals and given talks at many international conferences.

Dr Hansen grew up in Bathurst NSW attending high school there before completing a number of degrees at different universities, both in Australia and New Zealand, with neurosurgical training was completed in NSW.  He had training appointments at Royal Prince Alfred, Westmead Adults, Westmead Children’s, John Hunter and Royal North Shore Hospitals.  Dr Hansen completed Spine fellowships at John Hunter Hospital and the Toronto Western Hospital in Canada.

Dr Hansen is now appointed as a consultant Neurosurgeon at John Hunter Adults and John Hunter Childrens and Lingard Private Hospitals.

His surgical interests include the full gamet of neurosurgery.
