Dr Nicholas McLeod is a consultant urological surgeon with specialist training in all aspects of urology including surgical conditions of the kidney, prostate, bladder, adrenal and male reproductive organs. He has particular expertise in laparoscopic, laser, and robotic surgery.

Nicholas studied medicine at the University of Newcastle, graduating with Honours. After receiving training in general surgery through Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, he completed advanced urological training in New South Wales. As senior urology registrar at Westmead Hospital he received the George Schnitzler Prize for the NSW Urology Registrar of the Year. He then travelled to Manchester, United Kingdom, for international Fellowship training in the minimally invasive treatment of urological cancers. Nicholas uses both laparoscopic and robotic surgery for the treatment of prostate and kidney cancers, and is a certified da Vinci Robotic Surgeon.

He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and a member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand. Nicholas is committed to teaching, and is the training supervisor for advanced urology trainees at the John Hunter Hospital. He has an active role in teaching medical students, and has a keen interest in research. He has been appointed Conjoint Lecturer at the University of Newcastle. Nicholas offers a comprehensive, patient-focused approach and is dedicated to providing excellence in surgical care.
