Dr Vimalan Ambikaipaker is a staff specialist with expertise in Gastroenterology/Hepatology and General Medicine. He joined Lingard Medical Centre and Maitland Private Hospital in 2015.

Dr. Vimalan Ambikaipaker graduated from University of Auckland, New Zealand in 1999 and has been a staff specialist with Hunter New England Health since 2014. Dr Ambikaipaker trained in the Hunter from 2001 to 2014 in the field of Gastroenterology and General Medicine, then completed his post fellowship training at the AW Morrow Gastroenterology and Liver Centre, Royal Prince Alfred, Sydney, in the field of Hepatology and Liver Transplantation.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a conjoint lecturer of the University of Newcastle.
