High Schoolers experience working life in a hospital

Lingard Private Hospital had the pleasure of collaborating with The Smith Family to host a group of high school students for the Work Inspirations program.

Lingard Private Hospital had the pleasure of collaborating with The Smith Family to host a group of high school students for the Work Inspirations program. The were given the opportunity to see the many different departments and career avenues that we offer here at Lingard.

Among the highlights were:

  • A hospital tour where they got a behind the scenes view of what it is like to work in a hospital.
  • Staff speakers from a number of different areas who shared their employment stories and goals.
  • Activities to give students hand-on experience of the variety of hospital work, including playing Operation, carrying out basic life support on a dummy and donning and doffing when caring for an infectious patient.
  • A short personality test to help identify what careers may suit each student’s personality.

The day was filled with a lot of laughter and the students were fully engaged with the program, asking many pertinent questions and taking part in the activities with enthusiasm.

We look forward to the next opportunity to work with The Smith Family and show another group of students the wonderful career opportunities here at Lingard Private Hospital.
