Urologic conditions, those that affect the male reproductive organs or the male and female urinary tract (kidneys, bladder, ureters and urethra), can be treated at Lingard Private Hospital via robotics. If you’ve been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, Kidney Disorder or Cancer, Bladder Cancer or Urinary Blockage your doctor may suggest surgery. If your doctor suggests surgery, there are two main options: open surgery through one large incision (cut) and minimally invasive surgery through a few small incisions.
Prostatectomy
Finding out you have prostate cancer may be one of the hardest things you’ve faced. Having surgery to remove part or all of your prostate is called a prostatectomy. Rather than open surgery this procedure can be performed as a minimally invasive surgery (through a few small incisions) through the da Vinci Surgery.
Partial Nephrectomy (Kidney-Sparing Surgery)
If your doctor suggests surgery for a kidney disease or kidney cancer, it can be done using open surgery through one large incision (cut) or using minimally invasive surgery – through a few small incisions – with traditional laparoscopy or da Vinci Surgery.
Depending on your condition and the location of your tumor, you may not have to lose your entire kidney during surgery. This surgical method is called partial nephrectomy or kidney-sparing surgery. The goal is to take out only the diseased part of your kidney and keep the healthy part in place.
Cystectomy
Bladder cancer surgery is known as a cystectomy. If your doctor suggests surgery, a cystectomy can be done using minimally invasive surgery – through a few small incisions – with traditional laparoscopy or da Vinci Surgery.

If you or a loved one has a urinary obstruction (something that blocks the flow of urine), your doctor may suggest surgery. This type of surgery is called pyeloplasty. Doctors remove the blockage and reattach the healthy part of the kidney to the healthy part of the ureter (the tube that carries urine from the kidneys to the bladder). A Pyeloplasty can be done using minimally invasive surgery – through a few small incisions – with traditional laparoscopy or da Vinci Surgery
