Dr Azzi moved to Newcastle after graduating from the University of Sydney in 1989. He spent the next 13 years working in the public hospital system in General Medicine and Haematology. In 2008, he completed a Masters Degree in Skin Cancer Medicine (University of Queensland).

Dr Azzi now works full time as a Skin Cancer GP Surgeon and is a Founding Director of Newcastle Skin Check. He is a member of the AMA (Australian Medical Association) and AAAM (American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine).

Dr Azzi is a Former Chair and Current Member of the Medical Advisory Committee at Charlestown Private Hospital, a Board Member and Fellow of the Skin Cancer Institute, a member of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia, a Senior Lecturer at the School of Medicine with the University of Queensland, and an Advanced Skin Cancer Surgery Lecturer with HealthCert Education.

With his knowledge and skill, Dr Azzi has active and regular roles in research in association with the University of Sydney and Monash University, as well as training other doctors in skin cancer surgery nationally and internationally with Healthcert and GP Synergy.
